The Bull's-Eye View

Welcome to another issue of the Bull's Eye View. This month I have a specical message for all of the recruiters in Massachusetts. I was recently elected to the board of the Massachusetts Association of Personnel Services www.mapsweb.org . Part of my role as a new board member is to recruit new members and to strengthen the organization in the south shore, MA region.

On April 19th at 6:00PM I'm hosting a business after hours/membership drive and I'd love for you to attend. It could be a great opportunity for you to network with other recruiters to exchange trade secrets or work referrals. Please email me if you can attend.
The Massachusetts Association of Personnel Services (MAPS) is a trade association representing the Staffing Industry in Massachusetts. Our membership is comprised of Permanent Placement, Temporary Staffing and Executive Search companies located in Massachusetts.

Founded in 1914, MAPS is the oldest personnel association in the country. We provide a cohesive voice and resource for our industry, and have established ourselves as the primary resource for industry education, certification, communications, government affairs, industry trends and analysis, and standards of ethical practices.

MAPS is affiliated with the National Association of Personnel Services (NAPS).

  • Education and Training:

MAPS is active in developing and presenting a wide variety of training and educational programs specifically targeted to our industry. Nationally recognized Industry speakers are frequently retained to conduct seminars and training sessions to aid membership on topics such as: recruitment, client development, motivation, Internet, industry trends and much more. • New England Conference:

One of the largest and most dynamic regional conferences in the country, the New England Conference is an annual three-day educational conference. Assess Your Skills:

What skills do you already possess and which new ones will you need to learn and develop? The following exercise is designed to help you identify your present skills and the new ones you need to develop:

  1. If you could buy 10% of the earnings or productivity of another person, what qualities and skills would you look at to make your decisions?
  2. Make 2 lists - one of qualities and one for skills.
  3. Then look at your two lists and ask yourself which ones you don't already possess or cannot learn.

  • Rookie Sales Recruiter Raises the Bar: Improving the Economy One Sales Person at a Time

Target Consulting Group, LLC a premier employment firm that specializes in the permanent placement of sales professionals nationwide, announced that Ariana Zadek, after being with the company for 17 months, has achieved the Presidents Club Award and ranked the company's Top Sales Recruiter.

    Ariana Zadek

In 2005 Zadek generated $227,900.00 in revenue, placing 36 Executive Sales Professionals in permanent positions, achieving 127% of quota. Zadek also was responsible for bringing on 14 new client accounts for the year.

Zadek began her career in 2003 as a Outside Sales Representative for Conway Office Products, A Global Imaging Systems Company (NASDAQ: GISX), selling Konica Minolta copiers business-to-business immediately after graduating from Brandeis University (Waltham, MA) with an International Business and Psychology degree. At Conway Office Products Zadek won various prizes for top performance including a Rolex Watch. Zadek joined Target Consulting Group in August of 2004, and since then she has taken the industry by storm, making her first placement within her first month.

"Ariana is one of the most talented recruiters I've ever met," said Peter Marinilli, Managing Partner of Target Consulting Group. "To bill over $200,000 in the first year is very rare in our profession."

"The best part of being a Sales Recruiter is not helping a talented candidate get a better job," said Zadek. "The best part comes six months to one year after the placement, when you find out the candidate is that company's top performer."

Zadek's goal for 2006 is to generate $374,400.00 in revenue, and place over 45 Executive Sales Professionals in permanent positions.
